The Most Dangerous Places Near Water – and How to Make Them Safer When we...
The Shore Safety Hook Station is a versatile and highly visible lifesaving installation designed for locations where a fixed rescue ladder is not required. Developed specifically for quays and piers, it is also ideal for beaches, where its signal flag remains visible even over dunes and vegetation.
Each Hook Station consists of a 3-meter post with fittings, a lifebuoy, a rescue hook, and a reflective location sign that ensures visibility and quick identification during emergencies. The post can also be equipped with a fire cabinet for complete rescue and fire protection functionality.
All Shore Safety lifesaving equipment complies with the requirements of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and meets European standards for durability, visibility, and safety in public waterfront environments.
The Hook Station is purpose-built for permanent installation along quays, piers, and beaches where rapid access to lifesaving equipment is essential. The robust aluminum or steel post provides a stable mounting point for rescue gear, while the 3-meter height ensures that the red/yellow signal flag is clearly visible from a distance.
Its functional design places the rescue hook on one side and the lifebuoy on the other, allowing quick and intuitive access from either direction. The reflective location sign makes the station easy to find in all lighting conditions — day or night — and the optional fire cabinet provides additional safety coverage in areas with fire risk.
The station can be anchored securely using Shore Safety’s quay bracket for concrete installations or a buried concrete base when mounted on beaches or softer ground.
Built for harsh coastal environments, the Hook Station offers long-term corrosion resistance and requires minimal maintenance, making it an efficient, professional solution for both public and private waterfronts.
