The Most Dangerous Places Near Water – and How to Make Them Safer When we...
The Shore Safety Rescue Station is a complete and fully equipped lifesaving installation developed specifically for quay environments where reliable and clearly visible rescue equipment is required.
Each station includes a 3-meter post with fittings, a certified rescue ladder, a rescue hook, a lifebuoy, and a reflective location sign. The configuration ensures that all essential rescue tools are readily available in one place, enabling a fast and effective emergency response.
The rescue ladder is three meters long and equipped with hook fasteners, allowing it to reach deep into the water for safe and easy access from the quay. The station can also be equipped with a fire cabinet to provide combined fire and rescue functionality.
All Shore Safety products meet the requirements of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and comply with European and Swedish safety regulations for professional lifesaving installations.
The Rescue Station is engineered for public and industrial quays, harbors, and waterfronts, where durability, visibility, and accessibility are crucial. Constructed from marine-grade materials, it withstands the demanding conditions of coastal environments, including exposure to saltwater, wind, and temperature variations.
The certified rescue ladder (SP 149001) is approved for use in accordance with AFS 2004:3 and EN 131, ensuring it meets all European standards for safety and load-bearing performance. Its three-meter length ensures proper depth reach, allowing a person in distress to climb up from the water without assistance.
The rescue hook and lifebuoy provide versatile tools for retrieval and flotation, while the reflective location sign ensures the station is visible from a distance — both day and night.
For areas where fire hazards exist, the station can be customized with an integrated fire cabinet, creating a comprehensive rescue and fire safety system in one unified installation.

The station should be placed perpendicular to the waterline so that it is clearly visible even from a distance.
The ladder is mounted on one side and the lifebuoy on the other.
This ensures that the rescue equipment is easily accessible from each side.
The station is anchored to concrete and wooden quays with Shore Safety’s quay bracket or with a concrete foundation.
