The Most Dangerous Places Near Water – and How to Make Them Safer When we...
The Shore Safety Rescue Raft is a self-instructing rescue platform designed for quick, safe, and intuitive use during water rescue operations. Its thoughtful design allows two rescuers and one casualty to be accommodated comfortably on the raft at the same time, providing the stability and space needed for effective life-saving actions.
The raft’s innovative construction makes it easy to pull a person out of the water, and its low stern without edges allows the casualty to assist in climbing aboard. This design enables CPR to be initiated directly on the raft, a crucial factor that can significantly improve survival rates and reduce the risk of permanent injury.
All Shore Safety rescue products meet the requirements of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and are designed in accordance with Scandinavian safety and quality standards.
The Rescue Raft has been developed to combine functionality, visibility, and sustainability in one robust platform. Made entirely from high-density polyethylene, it is extremely durable, impact-resistant, and corrosion-free, ensuring a long service life with minimal maintenance.
Its red body and high-visibility yellow reflectors make it easy to locate in both daylight and low-light conditions. The deck features illustrated instructions that clearly show different ways to use the raft, allowing anyone on-site — even without prior training — to assist effectively in a rescue situation.
With a buoyancy capacity exceeding 300 kg, the raft provides a stable surface for multiple rescuers. The reflective markings on the deck, handles, and sign help indicate safe entry and exit points from the water, improving both orientation and safety during rescue operations.
Every component of the raft is material-marked and recyclable, aligning with Shore Safety’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Position the ladder so it is visible from as many angles as possible. The ladders are to be placed 25-50 meters apart from each other. Attach the included reflectors to increase the ladder’s visibility in darkness. The ladder should reach a minimum of 1meter below the surface at low tide, to ensure its accessibility at all times.

It is easy to pull the casualty up, and the casualty can even pull themselves up thanks to the stern without edges. CPR can be started directly on the raft, which is crucial since the time to start CPR is life-saving and dramatically reduces the risk of permanent injury.
